Ashley Shepherd is Managing Director and founder of Simply Equity Release, Simply Funeral Insurance and over 50s finance website Over50choices, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and a member of the Equity Release Council.

With more than 30 years’ financial services experience, Ashley has held senior management roles with well-known providers including SunLife and AXA Wealth where he was Marketing Director responsible for over 50 life insurance and funeral plans; and Head of Marketing at Stroud & Swindon Building Society, responsible for savings and mortgages including equity release.

He has also been Head of Home Finance Sales at Egg (part of Prudential Bank) and held a number of roles at the Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society.

As a recognised name in the industry, Ashley has been quoted in leading publications including the Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Financial Times, Mail Online, BBC, Guardian and Mail Online.

Claire Shepherd - Customer Services Director

Claire Shepherd is the Customer Services Director and co-founder of Simply Equity Release, Over50choices and Simply Funeral Insurance.

She has over 20 years’ personal finance experience in senior customer facing roles for leading names including Sunlife, Vertex and Market Reach where she was Client Services Director.

This first-hand customer experience gives Claire a unique appreciation of the kinds of questions and concerns customers need addressed when making important decisions on financial products such as equity release. Today, Claire applies this knowledge to crafting straightforward and honest answers to the many questions we’re asked about equity release and later life planning via this website.
